About The Owner
The webmaster and owner of Milanovich.net is Tyson Milanovich.

I am one of the producers of Good Morning Arizona on 3TV (KTVK-TV) in Phoenix.  Occasionally, I do some consulting work in media and public relations (when it doesn't conflict with my day job).  I am also the public address announcer for the football and basketball teams at Tempe High School.

If you think you know me from somewhere, you might be right.  I attended High School in Woodinville, Washington and then college at Arizona State University.  I had the good fortune of meeting many people from across the country during my time as NACURH National Chair.

This website serves three main purposes.  First, if you're looking for me, or members of my family, you've found us.  Second, we can share pictures and stories with our family members and friends.  Lastly, it's a place for the pontificating of ideas and opinions on issues both serious and unimportant.

Other Journalism Experience

Sports Intern
KNXV-TV (ABC-15)
September 1996 - May 1997
Notable: We were a small shop, so I got to do everything, including locker room interviews.
Highlights: Covered the 1997 Rose Bowl (ASU vs. Ohio State) and got in an important question when Charles Barkley returned to face the Suns for the first time.

Producer/Director
KASR-Video (Public Access)
December 1995 - May 1996
Notable: For one semester, I had my very own hour-long music video show.  My roommate (Lee Margolies) and I put the entire show together each week.
Highlights: Backstage with No Doubt and other bands prior to Super Bowl XXX, interviewing Everclear in a foul-smelling alley in Mesa behind a dive bar.

Morning Disk Jockey
KASR 1260AM (ASU College Radio)
September 1992 - December 1995
Notable: This is where the nickname "T-Roc The Prophet" came from.  It involved an altercation with a mall preacher on ASU's Hayden Lawn.
Highlights: Got to play a lot of grunge music from my hometown (Seattle).  Very first interview was with then-Mayor Harry Mitchell, who is now a U.S. Congressman.

Public Address Announcer
Arizona State University Athletics
September 1992 - 1994
Notable: Fill-in announcer for the ASU Softball team, especially when they had tournament games (multiple fields at once).
Highlights: Announced the very first softball games in the history of the UW Softball program at the ASU Coca-Cola Classic (a loss against Michigan, and a win over ASU).  That's worth a trivia question someday.

Public Address Announcer
Woodinville High School
1990 - 1992
Notable: I actually got paid for playoff games.  Announced mostly JV games in basketball, baseball, soccer, and volleyball.
Highlights: I was one of the last ones cut from the basketball team Sophomore year.  Seems I could talk a better game than I could play.

Explorer Scout - Post #35
KIRO-TV & Radio
1991
Notable: A short-but-fun internship where I got to visit my first newsroom.  My only experience with the Boy Scouts.

Spotter - GTE Northwest Classic
KING-TV
1989 - 1990
Notable: Along with a handful of other Junior Golfers, I got to follow groups around the course and report scores over headsets to a producer in the truck.  Who doesn't like Arnold Palmer & Chi Chi Rodriguez?  I think I still have my free "The Home Team" hat somewhere.
Other "Real World" Work Experience

Director of Operations
MarketMatrix, Inc.
September 2000 - 2002

Director of Operations
TripHub.com
July 1999 - August 2000

Vice President of Operations
International Student Tours (ISTOURS)
August 1997 - July 1999

Highlights: It was a very exciting time to be working in the fields of travel & technology in the Seattle-area.  I'm working on a rough draft of a book covering these years, and yes... I do name names.

Leadership Experience

National Chairperson
NACURH, Inc.
May 1995 - 1996 (one elected term)

Regional Director

November 1994 - November 1995

Associate Director
IACURH (Intermountain Affiliate of NACURH)
November 1993 - November 1994

Resident Assistant
ASU Cholla Apartments
1993 - 1996
Notable: Met my lovely wife on staff.  A number of athletes also lived in our complex, including Jake Plumber.  One Summer afternoon, I checked-in an undersized surfer-boy with a blonde mullet by the name of Pat Tillman.

Vice President of Public Relations
Residence Hall Association at ASU
Spring 1993
Notable: I ran for this position and lost, but they let me have it after the girl that won decided that president of her sorority was more important. Had that not happened, I would have never become involved in NACURH.

Activities Promoter
Woodinville High School
1991-1992
Notable: This is where it all began: Falcon Radio, The Peppy Pooper, and some life-long friendships.
